Playing
Jawsome Note Values Game (available in the Free Resource Library). A fun game for beginners, but with a bit of strategy to keep things interesting!
Plus some favourite games from Piano Game Club.

Practicing
Two Debussy pieces: Voiles and La Cathédrale Engloutie. Both are part of my ATCL programme and they’re my current favourites (though I can’t decide which one I like best!).
Creating
Some weekly challenges for my students to try while I’m away (more on that below!). These will be ten different activities they can complete at home.
Watching
Postmodern Jukebox in concert next month! I’m really looking forward to seeing a live performance (it’s been a while) and I’m hoping they’ll play one of my favourite covers:
Reading
Harry Potter fanfiction! And also rereading The Savvy Music Teacher by David Cutler, which is full of inspiration and practical advice for independent music teachers.
For more of my favourite books for music teachers check out this post.

Planning
On taking three months off from teaching at the start of next year! We’ve bought a retro caravan (that photo shows what it’s like inside) and well be taking a family roadtrip around New Zealand over the summer. There’s a lot of planning and preparation to be done but it’s going to be worth it!
