Frequently Asked Questions

Lessons are held during school time in the Parkview Pārua music room, generally during the morning session and middle session. Students are collected from class at their lesson time, so there’s no need to worry about logistics!

For more experienced students the Expansion programme is available after school in North Brighton.

For partner lessons two students attend the same 30 minute lesson. During the lesson students work on three different activities:

  • One on one time with the teacher
  • Independent guided practice
  • Shared theory and creative activities

Definitely! In fact students who are signed up for regular lessons can join one of the Music Clubs for only $75 (half the usual price).

Regular practice is essential to making progress, so developing good practice habits will help you get the most out of music lessons.

A little (five to ten minutes) practice every day is a great goal for beginners, but if that’s not practical it’s a good idea to try and fit in at least two practice sessions between lessons.
