This music practice colouring activity is a creative way to encourage practice. Students complete an activity, colour in an image, and repeat as desired for a fun practice session!
Description
Colourful Practice helps student visually track their progress as they colour in images while completing practice activities. This music practice colouring activity is perfect for use at home or during a practice lab.
Each activity gets students to focus on one section of their piece (like a line or a bar). Some of the activities include:
- Play the hardest line of your piece three times with no mistakes
- Choose one line and play it very softly and then very loudly
- Play one line while counting the beat out loud (or in your head)
- Choose one line and play it at the speed of no mistakes (slowly!)
- Play the first line of your piece with your eyes closed
Students are able to choose which activities they want to complete and how many times to try each one. And since every activity is effective, they’ll have a productive practice session no matter what!
How long does it take to complete one of the pages?
Each activity usually takes a few minutes and there are between 11 and 13 activities for each sheet, so each page provides around an hour of practice tasks.
